On Monday, Westminster came to me. Yesterday, it was time for me to go to a rather damp Westminster and to Number 10. Unfortunately this time I didn’t get to see the most famous resident, Larry the cat, I think he was hiding from the rain.
I was there for the final SME Digital Adoption Taskforce roundtable looking at how we can enable more SMEs to make better use of digital tools to enhance productivity and grow their businesses.
It was a great discussion around what the various technology and financial organisations around the table could offer to accelerate SME digital adoption and learnings from pilots and individual initiatives over the summer.
It was also great to meet the new minister for small business and enterprise, The Lord Leong CBE, who also shared his focus on solving the late payment challenge in the UK and how digital tools can assist with that too.
Look out for more exciting announcements coming from this soon, but in the meantime I would still love to hear your insights and thoughts on the barriers and the solutions to helping more small businesses make better and wider use of digital tools within their businesses.
A big thanks to all those who joined, their enthusiasm to support SMEs was fantastic!
